About this event

Join us with Bond Uni + Gareth Rydon for a hands-on workshop and discussion explroing building practical, human-centred AI.

AI is no longer a distant idea or hype-driven headline — it’s here, reshaping how we work, build, and connect. The question is no longer if we use it, but how: in ways that are practical, human-centred, and relevant to real business challenges.

This event at Bond University is both a workshop and a meeting place. It brings together voices from across the Gold Coast to share grounded insights and lived experiences of working with AI — moving beyond the buzz into what really works.

Participants will:

Engage in table-based group work, designed for interaction not lecturesApply human-centred design methods such as contextual inquiry and rapid journey mapping to their own businesses and projectsExplore together how AI can enable better ways of working, building, and collaboratingFinish with networking time to share reflections, spark ideas, and grow connections across the communityThe event is designed for 30- 50 participants in a collaborative room setup (tables, not theatre seating). The focus is on relevance and participation, making it valuable for both builders and business leaders who want to engage with AI in practical, meaningful ways.

This workshop is delivered in partnership with Gareth Rydon of Friyay and Bond University. More speakers to be announced.

Please note: This event will be held at Bond University, Robina. Instructions for the exact classroom location will be provided upon registration.
